The Greenest Says:

Simple ingredients, all-natural — classic Papa & Barkley. Full-spectrum hemp extract too! I’m into this one. Papa & Barkley Releaf Balm may cost a little more than your other CBD products, but consider this product the conscious alternative. Chemical Free and triple testing seem to be a pretty easy way to guarantee the consistency of these products, but they also openly advertise a 30-day 100% money back guarantee all over the site! Would definitely recommend. – Willy Christie

What is Papa & Barkley’s Releaf Balm?

The Papa & Barkley Releaf Balm is a full spectrum hemp CBD product that aims to help with muscle aches and soreness. In addition to CBD, this topical also contains beeswax and other healing essential oils. This includes eucalyptus, tea tree, peppermint and lavender, which also helps provide the balm with a herbaceous scent.

And since it is made with full-spectrum hemp CBD, it has all those great cannabinoids like CBG, CBN and CBC. As well as a little THC. And all those bad boys work together to give you the entourage effect for your endocannabinoid system. And in case you aren’t aware, your endocannabinoid system helps regulate your metabolism, sleep, chronic pain and immune system (among others). And not to beat a dead horse, but it also contains plenty of antioxidants, phytonutrients and terpenes. OK, we’re done listing hard to spell words now.

How Much CBD is in it?

The 15 ml balm contains 180 mg of full spectrum CBD. And because it is full spectrum you get a big ol’ batch of other helpful cannabinoids as well. Which cannabinoids you ask? Well, let us tell you: CBG and CBC and even THC. All these cannabinoids work together (in what’s called the entourage effect) to keep your endocannabinoid system in homeostasis. What does that mean? Well, the FDA has not approved CBD (or any of the cannabinoids) to treat specific diseases. Nor has it approved it as an anti-inflammatory or a neuroprotective. And no brands can claim they will cure any sort of pain or sleep or anxiety issues. But they can say they can help provide “support” for these issues.

Take all that for what it’s worth!

Will This Get You High?

No. While this product is full spectrum, meaning it contains THC and other cannabinoids in addition to CBD. But there’s only a trace amount of THC, which is not enough to cause psychoactive effects. Any CBD product you can buy online or at a store that isn’t a dispensary should have less than 0.3% THC. That’s the threshold that makes it legal. And with such little THC, you should not feel high. As long as you stick to the recommended doses. In short: don’t take more than they tell you to.

And our disclaimer: always check with your doctor before starting a CBD regimen or upping your dose. Better to be safe than sorry.

How Much Papa & Barkley Releaf Balm Should You Take?

Papa & Barkley recommends using about one tablespoon at a time. Try a little at first. Then if you have no adverse reactions feel free to increase your dosage. Topicals tend to absorb into the bloodstream at a lesser rate. Which means you can worry a little less when it comes to feeling any effects from the tiny amount of THC in this balm. CBD has anecdotal evidence around helping with inflammation and relaxation. But when it comes to topicals, it’s hard to tell which other ingredients are also providing relief. But we can pretty safely say that the THC won’t have any high effect.

How Long Will it Take to be Effective?

CBD topicals generally take 10 to 15 minutes before effects will be felt. But it isn’t an overnight miracle drug. It takes 2-4 weeks for the full effects of it to totally kick in. And even then, “kicking in” doesn’t mean “feeling like superman.” It’s a process. Give it a little time and, if CBD is right for you, you’ll be happy you did.
