The Greenest Says:

Pachamama Icy Muscle Gel is another fantastically branded product that just makes me want to have it in the background of some Instagram post. Now, I’m no Icy Roll-On expert, but I’m pretty sure that it’s hard to make one that doesn’t have a few crazy sounding ingredients. That being said, the addition of other plant extracts, along with menthol and camphor, give this roll-on a pretty powerful entourage of herbs. Peony root extract? Licorice root extract? Sure! – Willy Christie

What is Pachamama Icy Muscle Gel?

The Pachamama Icy Muscle Gel is a broad spectrum, CBD roll-on topical that’s meant to provide relief for aches, pains and other discomforts. The gel also contains Chinese healing herbs, as well as menthol, camphor and licorice root to provide additional benefits. That’s where the icy feel comes from. We who doesn’t like an icy feel? Especially in the summer. (Yes, that’s a joke!)

How Much CBD is in Pachamama Icy Muscle Gel?

The 2 oz bottle contains 500 mg of broad spectrum CBD hemp extract. Broad spectrum CBD has all the fun other cannabinoids for your endocannabinoid system, without any THC. It’s a nice middleground between isolate and full spectrum. Perfect for anyone who wants the entourage effect without any THC. Although we would say that this won’t have enough THC to make you feel weird or high.

Will This Get You High?

No. This gel is a broad spectrum CBD product, meaning it contains additional cannabinoids and terpenes. But it does not have any THC, which is the cannabinoid which causes psychoactive effects and a high. Although, there could be some trace amounts of THC in broad spectrum products. And when we say “trace” we mean very very small amounts. But that’s would only ever ben an issue for something you eat (like an oil or edible.) The teeny tiny amounts of THC that might be in a broad spectrum topical won’t enter your bloodstream in any way that would make you feel anything at all.

How Much Pachamama Icy Muscle Gel Should You Take?

Pachamama recommends applying the gel generously to affected areas. To allow for complete absorption and to repeat up to four times daily as needed. And we always recommend doing a little “spot test” for any and all topicals. That means you put a little dab on a small area of your skin at first. And let it sit there for a couple hours to see if you have any reaction. If your skin is fine, then feel free to go hog wild. And by “hog wild” we mean “used the recommended dosage.”

How Long Will it Take to be Effective?

CBD topicals generally take 10 to 15 minutes before taking effect. However you may feel the other ingredients in the gel, such as menthol, right away. And it can take CBD 2-4 weeks to reach its full effect. Yes, you read that right. We like to let everyone know that CBD isn’t like an aspirin. You don’t take two and call me in the morning. Think of CBD as a more holistic approach to health and wellness. You have an endocannabinoid system. And this feeds it. Anyone who tells you it will make you feel 20 years younger overnight is lying to you.

Having said that…

The FDA hasn’t approved the use of CBD for specific ailments like arthritis or joint pain. But we have seen enough anecdotal evidence from people who claim it helps them. But again, it won’t be overnight. Give it time to work its magic!
