Before we get into the Koi Naturals Hemp Extract CBD Oil Tincture review, let’s have a talk. Koi is kind of a tricky brand to review. On one hand, they are pretty popular and have been around for a while. Which itself means something. On the other, they have had some legal hiccups over the last few years. And when you hear that, you immediately think the worst. But after digging in, we found that it seems like Koi got into hot water over a few technicalities that a lot of brands deal with in the CBD space.
In 2019 they got a warning letter from the FDA because they made claims about their product being a dietary supplement as well as a drug. Does that bother us? Not really, and let us tell you why: this happened quite a bit a few years ago. Marketing CBD brands and products was — and still is — the wild west. Were some brands sketchy and shady? Oh heck yeah (that’s basically why we started this site.) But after reading the letter the FDA sent to KOI, we think this is more a marketing issue than an inferior or product quality issue.
Should KOI have been smarter about their marketing? Yes. And we’ll give them our own little slap on the wrist for that when it comes to our score. But their products are independently tested and they list their ingredients on their labels. And as we mentioned earlier, they’ve been a round a while. Which itself is a testament to customer loyalty and product quality (brands that suck don’t last long in the CBD world.) The only other negative is that they aren’t specific about where they get their hemp. But a LOT of brands aren’t specific about that, either. Oh, and this is a broad spectrum CBD product. So you get some (not all) of the cannabinoids, but no THC.
Alright, now that we got that out of the way, we’ll keep it short. This Hemp Extract CBD Oil Tincture is a solid product. Only five ingredients, but one of them is stevia. So that added sweetness will be a personal preference. If you like, it, great. If you don’t like it, that’s also cool. (We don’t judge.) We wish there was a little more CBD in their smaller bottles, but the dollar-per-CBD isn’t crazy. Think of this as a mainstream CBD product, concocted to appeal to the masses. Pop a few drops under your tongue and you’re ready to watch the latest episode of whatever is on network television or listen to Maroon 5.
It’s for anyone who’s maybe a little nervous about taking anything we THC (since there’s none in here), but feels too cool for isolate (which is only CBD and no other helpful cannabinoids.) And according to their instagram page, it’s for a lot of dogs and people who like product shots with cool, smoky backgrounds and floating fruit.

HOW MUCH CBD IS IN THIS CBD PRODUCT?
Koi Naturals Hemp Extract CBD Oil Tinctures have an array of sizes but this one has 250mgs of CBD in a 30ml bottle. Are we the only ones who get our mgs and mls confused?

WILL THIS GET YOU HIGH?
No, there’s zero THC in it. So you will feel none of the effects that anyone in Dazed and Confused felt. What we’re saying is you won’t get high.
HOW MUCH SHOULD YOU TAKE?
They say you can consume one ml dropper three times a day. That’s 3ml per day for you math whizzes. We always recommend starting with just one the first few times you use it. The reason is answered in the next section.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO BECOME EFFECTIVE?
Honestly, everyone asks this, but it’s really difficult to answer because everyone is different. We always suggest trying a product for three weeks before deciding if it works for you. CBD takes a while to work its way into your system. Don’t try it once, feel nothing and throw it away. If it doesn’t make you feel a way you don’t want to feel, then give it a chance to work its magic. If it still doesn’t seem to work after three weeks, toss it in the garbage and make yourself a martini. (Don’t tell The Greenest’s medical advisors we said that.)
Yeah, thanks to the 2018 Farm Bill, CBD with less than .3% THC is legal. And since this has zero THC, it’s legal.
